CTET 2018 Exam Pattern

The CTET 2018 Exam will be conducted in two phases:

Paper I and Paper II

Paper I is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class VI to VIII. Candidates also can apply for both Paper I and Paper II. Questions asked in exam are Objective Multiple Choice. Paper is bilingual, i.e. in both English and Hindi. A candidate is required to score minimum 60% to qualify CTET 2018 Exam. One major thing to note is that the score of CTET is valid for 7 years after the result has been declared for the same by CBSE.

CTET 2018 Application Fee

Candidates can apply for CTET 2018 Exam by logging in to the official website of CTET ie www.ctet.nic.in.

CTET 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus of CTET 2018 is very lengthy. It focuses mainly on Child Development & Pedagogy and concept of education in schools. Language is one section a candidate needs to be master in to clear CTET 2018 exam. Apart from that Mathematics, Science/Environmental Science is also major sections that a candidate needs to focus on to ace CTET 2018 Exam.

CTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for selecting candidates to the post of Teacher for Classes I-V and for Classes VI-VIII. Let’s look at the Educational Qualification Required by Candidates for both these sections: Educational Qualification for Primary Stage (Classes I-V)

  • Applicants must have passed senior secondary exam or its equivalent with at least 50% marks.
  • They must secure at least 45% marks in higher secondary exam and should have passed the final exam of 2- year diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE regulations, 2002.
  • An aggregate of at least 50% in higher secondary exam must be obtained.
  • They must be appearing for or have passed the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Minimum score of at least 50% marks in senior secondary must be obtained.
  • Individuals who have done their graduation and have passed or are appearing in the final year of 2 year Diploma in education will also be eligible.

Educational Qualification for Elementary Stage (Classes VI-VIII)

  • Participants should have done their graduation.
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks in graduation degree and should pass the 1-year Bachelor in Education program.
  • Applicants must obtain no less than 45% marks in graduation degree.
  • They must have passed senior secondary with an aggregate of at least 50% marks.
  • They should be in the final year of 4- year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed/ B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed having passed higher secondary with 50% marks.
  • Aspirants should have completed their graduation with at least 50% marks and are appearing in 1-year B.Ed course.

 

CTET 2018 Admit Card

The admit card for CTET 2018 exam will be uploaded on the website after the application process is completed. Candidates are required to download the CTET 2018 admit card from its official website. Admit Card will be released separately for candidates applying for Paper I, Paper II, for both Paper I and Paper II.

CTET 2018 Results

The declaration of results will be done by CBSE after the examination of CTET is conducted.
