IBPS PO 2018 Notification Released, 4102 Probationary Officer

Every year IBPS aka Institute OF Banking Personnel holds the IBPS PO Bank Exam to select Probationary Officers in Public Sector banks. IBPS offers recruitment services to all Public-Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, LIC & Insurance companies and regular member Banks of the IBPS society.

It is held at various locations throughout India. The mode of examination is online. In 2018, IBPS CWE-VII PO Pre-Exam is held on 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October 2018.  IBPS PO Main Exam will be held on 18th November 2018.

IBPS PO 2018 Vacancy

More than 20 lakh aspirants appear for the IBPS Bank PO examination every year. IBPS has already released the official notification, exam dates & vacancies for IBPS PO 2018. IBPS introduced 4102 vacancies for IBPS PO 2018-19 Exam. IBPS PO Vacancy 2018 is likely to be more or less same as that of last year.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria – 2018

Educational Qualifications:

A candidate must have the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination.

The date for online application for IBPS 2018 exam will begin on 14th August 2018 and will end on 4th September 2018

IBPS PO 2018 Exam Dates

IBPS has released IBPS PO Exam Dates for the year 2018-19. IBPS PO 2018 Prelims exam will be conducted on 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October 2018 and mains exam is scheduled on 18th November 2018. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examination for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) and Clerical Cadre every year. IBPS will take CWE-VIII for Probationary Officers as an Online exam in two parts:

  1. IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
  2. IBPS PO Mains Exam

IBPS PO Salary

Approximate salary of bank PO is 35,000 – 40,000 and it may vary bank to bank. And other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company. IBPS PO Interview

The candidates who have qualified the mains exam are called for a face to face interview which carries a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

The interview round is generally 15-20 minutes long, where a panel of bank officials ask questions to the candidates about themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in mains examination and interview. The final scores calculated by IBPS with weightage of marks given to the main examination and interviewing the ratio of 80:20 respectively.

Major changes are noticed in IBPS PO Mains Exam 2018. Let’s have a look at all the changes one by one.

  • The IBPS PO Main exam has 4 sections with a total score of 200 marks that has to be completed within a time frame of 180 minutes.
  • The number of questions asked in IBPS PO Mains 2018 has been reduced from 200 to 155.
  • IBPS has introduced a descriptive paper in its mains exam for selection of candidates to the post of Probationary officer.
  • The time duration for completing the multiple sections has also been altered for Prelims Exam. Now each section in the prelims exam needs to be completed in 20 minutes.
  • There will be no particular section for Computer Applications. Reasoning section has been teamed up with Computer Aptitude section that will comprise of 45 questions carrying a total of 60 marks that needs to be completed within 60 minutes.

IBPS PO Admit Card 2018

Every candidate who registers for IBPS Exam 2018 within stipulated time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be downloaded from the official website of IBPS. The admit card for the PRELIMS exam will be released first followed by the admit card of MAINS exam (administered to only those candidates who qualify for MAINS).

IBPS PO Results 2018

IBPS will release the results in three stages after completion of each level Exam. The candidates selected in the rounds progress to the next one. Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official IBPS website as and when the results are announced.
